Tidal Testnet Update — 1
Dear Tidal Community,
We are excited to start the testnet program in a few hours. Since the testnet program announcement, we have received over 3,000 responses in less than 3 days. Thank you all for such great support. We are looking forward to making our product more robust and easy to use from this exercise, as well as building a strong user-based community for tidal’s future growth. Below are a few updates since last week.
- We decided to increase the participants from 100 to 500 people. The reason for limiting it to a relatively small amount is to ensure the quality of communication, since this is the initial testnet launch, we might experience more questions and feedback than usual. Depending on the activities of the next few days, more participants could join if we feel there is enough bandwidth to serve a larger number of participants.
- The participant addresses are listed here. And a separate email will be sent to the participants with this announcement.

- Test ETH on the ropsten network is needed. Get your test ETH here — https://faucet.ropsten.be/
- Mock USDC and “Guarantor Token” will be sent to the participants in the next 12 hours. Each participant will get a random amount of USDC from 10,000 to 100,000. And 2 types of Guarantor tokens each from 500 to 1000. E.g. 600 COMP and 800 UNI.
- Once you receive the mock USDC and tokens, you can start testing by following the testnet program steps. We will give an update every few days during the testnet period to track the score of each participant.
- The first testing interval will last for two days. From Tuesday 9 AM EST to Thursday 9 AM EST. Participants can deposit reserves, buy/sell covers, deposit guarantor tokens. By Thursday 9 AM, we will enter the next testing interval.
- Testnet channel is created on discord for feedback and questions. More channels will be created for product discussion in the coming week.
